NCsoft is attracting global attention with its online game "Throne and Liberty" (TL), which garnered a significant number of users during its recent open beta test conducted for overseas gamers.
According to the game studio, Thursday, the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is set to make its global launch on Monday. The company expects positive early responses, given the strong interest from global gamers during a series of tests.
After launching TL for domestic gamers last year, NCsoft has been testing the game with global users since July. During the test period, the game saw a peak of over 60,000 simultaneous users and maintained more than 30,000 players throughout a dry-run. The company estimates that hundreds of thousands of users have played the game so far.
NCsoft reported positive feedback from global users, with multiple online game communities praising the game's content and stable services.
Users from Reddit and Steam, popular online game communities in North America, expressed satisfaction with TL's visual effects, which enhanced battles and explorations. Some praised the game's features that facilitate player teamwork, while others noted the "surprisingly stable services" despite the high number of simultaneous players.
The company emphasized its commitment to user communication and feedback, hosting online meetings with fans even before the official global launch. The first offline meeting with TL users, held on June 22, lasted over four hours.
During the meetings, the company promised to implement 80 percent of user requests into the game. At the latest meeting on September 20, it announced plans to update the game by January with new player-versus-player content, including additional weapons.
As of Wednesday, TL ranked ninth in Steam's top sellers in the U.S.
