Oriental Brewery Company announced, Wednesday, that it has decided to acquire Jeju Soju from Shinsegae L&B.

The acquisition of Jeju Soju, a company dedicated to enhancing the global profile of K-soju through exports, strengthens the ability to accelerate the international expansion of both the Cass and Jeju Soju brands, Korea's largest beer maker said.

By leveraging the strengths of both brands and the growing influence of hallyu, Oriental Brewery, which is owned by AB InBev, said it aims to bring Cass and Jeju Soju to global consumers, offering a diverse range of Korean beverages.

Oriental Brewery said its core focus remains on leading and growing the beer category in Korea while expanding Cass’s presence across the globe. As an official partner of the recent Paris Olympic Games, Cass gained significant global attention by operating a Korean-style street bar, “Cass Pocha,” in Paris. This initiative further solidified Cass’ growing international presence, showcasing its potential through consistent export growth.

As part of its global expansion strategy, Oriental Brewery said it chose Jeju Soju to accompany Cass on its international journey. Together, Cass and Jeju Soju aim to tap into the increasing global enthusiasm for K-culture, expanding it to include K-food and beverages.

"This acquisition is part of (Oriental Brewery's) long-term growth strategy, opening up new possibilities for us," Vice President Koo Ja-beom said.

“(Oriental Brewery) remains dedicated to delivering the best beer experience for Korean consumers. This acquisition allows us to further leverage and strengthen our Cass export network worldwide.”
