Renault Korea’s Grand Koleos SUV seeks to penetrate Korea’s auto market with differentiated comfort and its infotainment system.
According to a Renault Korea official, Monday, the French carmaker’s new flagship SUV is 478 centimeters long, 188 centimeters tall and 168 centimeters wide. With its extended wheelbase of 282 centimeters, the official added the car overwhelms its D-segment competitors with spatial comfort.
“Korean consumers like large cars,” the official said in a press release.
“They like large and heavy cars because they believe these cars offer driving stability with carrying capacity. The Grand Koleos SUV suggests a new set of standards for Korean consumers in these categories.”
The 5-seater SUV has up to 2,034 liters of trunk space when the rear seats are folded down.
It also includes the installation of heated and ventilated seats in the front as a basic option. The premium option features the 8-way adjustable memory seats with eco-friendly synthetic leather.
The Bose audio system allows the active noise canceling function utilizing its three different microphones to detect the vehicle’s engine noise. The Bose speakers then deliver counter sound waves to offset the noise.
The Grand Koleos’ infotainment system is powered by the openR Panorama Screen, consisting of three different screens, which allows the front seat passenger to view various streaming services, including Disney+, Watcha, Apple TV and Tving, separate from the driver's display.
With Renault Korea’s partnership with Naver, passengers can access various social platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram via Naver Whale, a freeware web browser.
Various driver assistance systems such as a head-up display are also included. The T-Map navigation system is installed as well. It is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The hybrid SUV made its debut at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show. Manufactured in Busan and adopting Chinese auto giant Geely’s Compact Modular Architecture platform, the Grand Koleus can deliver up to 245 horsepower from its hybrid system combining a 1.64-kilowatt battery and a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a multi-mode transmission.
