Cup and container recycling service provider Happy Bridge has partnered with the Korea Automobile Environmental Association (KAEA) to help achieve a carbon-neutral society, the service provider said Friday.
The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding at Happy Bridge’s Yongin factory in Gyeonggi Province, Thursday. Under the deal, both sides are set to carry out not only their own carbon reduction programs but also each other’s.
Happy Bridge promised it will establish an eco-friendly distribution solution while the KAEA is expected to use Happy Bridge’s reusable cups and near-field communication system to track each cup’s use history as well as related carbon reduction data.
They also promised to jointly host a series of carbon reduction campaigns with their client companies.
“The KAEA features various carbon reduction solutions for a better atmospheric environment,” said Happy Bridge head Park Nam. “I am happy to establish a partnership with the KAEA. Through the partnership, we will continuously help reduce carbon emissions.”
Happy Bridge said the KAEA had introduced Happy Bridge’s reusable cups and containers at its office starting Monday.
It added that it is now test-driving its automated processing line to wash more reusable cups and containers at its Yongin factory. The processing history for these cups and containers is also recorded here.
About 200,000 cups can be processed here daily, according to the company.
The KAEA is a nongovernmental lobby group established under the 2007 Clean Air Conservation Act to help reduce damage to the environment and people caused by exhaust gases emitted from automobiles.
