CJ OliveNetworks has joined hands with SAP Korea for the development of its next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, the two companies said Tuesday.

Under the partnership, the CJ affiliate will introduce ERP solutions from SAP for CJ's core business areas, such as food, distribution and media business. CJ expects the latest partnership to help optimize overall spending for its ongoing digital transformation.

Both sides also said that they will deepen ties to seek future business opportunities.

SAP also plans to help not just CJ OliveNetworks, but other key CJ subsidiaries to develop their customized ERP systems.

CJ OliveNetworks said it will be able to sophisticate its IT infrastructure to boost its customer-oriented management after completing the ERP development. This will also set an example for its other key affiliates to reinforce their overall business competitiveness down the road, according to the company.

“We are moving to take the lead in the next-generation ERP system establishment in our core business areas through the strategic partnership with SAP Korea,” CJ OliveNetworks CEO Yoo In-sang said. “We will also elevate our ERP capabilities and support digital transformation and business expansion from other CJ affiliates by taking advantage of SAP’s new technologies and IT prowess.”

CJ OliveNetworks is an IT service developer and offers its digital services to customers, such as cloud solutions and the digital market. The company and SAP Korea also reached a consensus on co-developing a SAP expert training program.

The CJ affiliate is also aggressively diversifying in other tech areas. The company is operating the CJ AI Center, which opened in April 2022, standing at the forefront of driving CJ Group’s digital transformation.

SAP is renowned for its cloud-based ERP products and is one of the world’s largest software companies.
