Samsung Electronics has been promoting Busan's 2030 World Expo bid at IFA 2023, the largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition in Europe, held in Berlin, Germany from Sept. 1 to Sept. 5, according to the company, Sunday.

Samsung Electronics raised 60 promotional flags at two entrances of City Cube Berlin, where the IFA exhibition is being held, to promote the Samsung brand and Busan as a host for the Expo. In addition, they included Busan's Expo bid emblem in product videos displayed on large screens measuring 20 meters in length and posted Expo support slogans throughout the exhibition hall.

They also carried out promotional activities in various locations in downtown Berlin. Samsung Electronics showcased the Expo support slogans on outdoor advertisements at the Media Markt Alexa branch, a large electronics retail store, and screened Expo promotional videos on major routes with high pedestrian traffic, such as the Samsung store at KaDeWe department store, the pop-up store on Kurfurstendamm avenue and the Berlin Airport store.

The BIE, an international organization that governs the 2030 World Expo, will choose the host city on Nov. 28, through a vote by 179 member countries

Busan is currently competing with Saudi Arabia's Riyadh and Italy's Rome. The competition is forecast to be fierce as Korea's rivals are also expected to accelerate their bidding efforts over the next three months.

The BIE's inspection team visited Busan for due diligence in April. And in June, Korea completed its fourth competitive presentation at the BIE's general assembly in Paris.
