LX Holdings CEO joins Zero Disposable Challenge

LX Holdings announced that CEO Roh Jin-seo has joined the Zero Disposable Challenge, a nationwide environmental campaign started by the Ministry of Environment aiming to reduce the use of disposable products in daily life.

The campaign involves reducing the use of single-use items in daily life and increasing the use of reusable items. Participants make a commitment to these practices on social media platforms and nominate the next participants.

"Efforts to improve the environment are something that each individual can practice in their everyday lives,” LX Holdings CEO Roh Jin-seo said. “Instead of prioritizing the convenience of single-use items, we should think about their environmental impact. I will contribute to the establishment of a culture that reduces the use of disposable items through continuous efforts.”

In addition, CEO Roh recommended Shin Hak-cheol, vice chairman of LG Chem, and Roh Tae-moon, President (head of mobile business) of Samsung Electronics, as the next participants.

LX Holdings, through its first group-level ESG report published last month, recognized that environmental management is a crucial factor in ensuring the company's sustainable development. The company has established policies aimed at minimizing environmental impact, including the promotion of an environmental management culture.

The ESG report provides insights into the group's ESG management direction and the activities of key affiliates. The report, unveiled on July 28, outlines LX Holdings' ESG vision and establishes a comprehensive ESG strategy framework.

The report also presents ESG management strategies and accomplishments of six affiliate companies including LX International, LX Pantos, LX Hausys, LX Semicon, LX MMA and LX MDI.
