Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo has joined the “NO EXIT” campaign that aims to prevent drug crimes by raising awareness of the risks associated with drug abuse, company officials said Sunday.

The campaign is a pan-national movement promoted by the National Police Agency and the Korean Association Against Drug Abuse since April.

It is being run as a social media relay campaign to highlight the seriousness of drug addiction while attempting to eradicate it by raising public awareness.

“As drugs have recently emerged as a serious social problem, keen attention and active participation from the entire nation are needed to eradicate drugs. Hana Financial Group will make efforts to make Korea a clean society without drugs through this campaign,” Ham said.

Ham was nominated by DGB Financial Group Chairman Kim Tae-oh in June and posted an anti-drug message on Hana Financial Group's official social media account with the slogan “Maze without an exit, NO EXIT, Drugs, Never start,” The chairman further tapped Mirae Asset Securities Chairman Choi Hyun-man as the next relay campaign participant.

Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group is taking a lead in co-prosperity projects with the local communities by actively participating in major social agendas in the country. It started its “100 Daycare Centers Construction Project” to address the low birthrate problem and opened “Hana Mom Care Center” to provide a place for infants and pregnant women to get the care they need. The company is also promoting a free rental service at “Hana Grand Hall” for brides- and grooms-to-be.

On July 2, Hana Financial Group also started environmental, social and corporate governance activities, such as its “Cool Korea Challenge” which encourages its employees to wear comfortable clothes to save energy and to participate in a clothing donation campaign to implement corporate social responsibilities.
