POSCO International hosted an export voucher consultation meeting with the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency in Bangkok, Thailand, Wednesday. The export voucher system is a program that provides marketing services to support SMEs' overseas market entry, according to the company, Wednesday.
The meeting aimed to facilitate one-on-one export consultations between domestic small and medium-sized enterprises and local companies in Thailand. The company explained that its purpose was to assist in the search for overseas market opportunities for small and venture businesses through collaboration with the government and promote mutually beneficial growth.
POSCO International and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency selected 12 small and venture companies. These companies were chosen based on considerations such as market demand, product competitiveness, and potential matches with buyers. They possessed excellent technology and products but required assistance in expanding into overseas markets.
The 12 selected small and venture companies conducted export consultations during the meeting, engaging in one-on-one meetings with over 40 companies, including PTT (Thailand's largest energy company) and Gulf Energy Development (the largest private power producer).
"Many small and venture companies face export difficulties due to a lack of global market recognition and networks,” a POSCO International official said. “We will practice POSCO's corporate citizenship management philosophy through mutual growth with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and ventures.”
POSCO International has developed a global network with 46 countries and over 80 locations, accumulating expertise in establishing overseas market channels. Since 2014, it has been recognized as a specialized trading company by the Korea International Trade Association, actively supporting the overseas expansion of small and venture companies encountering export challenges.
