Osstem Implant's U.S. unit, Hiossen, won the 2023 President's “E” Award, in recognition of the company's product quality, clinical education and job creation, the company said Monday.

The award was established in 1961 to encourage and promote companies and organizations that contribute to the expansion of U.S. exports under former U.S. President John F. Kennedy.

Twenty winners are selected every year by the U.S. Department of Commerce through the final screening, among candidates recommended by the 50 state governments.

“This award means that the U.S. government has recognized our U.S. branch's excellent capabilities and potential for business development. It is expected to play an important role in not only facilitating our business there but also securing customers in more than 50 countries around the world,” Head of Hiossen Lee Kyung-rae said.

The company has demonstrated a high level of profitability and financial soundness in the U.S. by achieving steady export growth and strengthening domestic performance over the past four years.

All of Osstem Implant's products used in the U.S. are produced, manufactured and packaged in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Its production plant produced an average of 180,000 implant sets per month as of last year, focusing Hiossen's premium production line. This is equivalent to 11 percent of Osstem's total annual production in the three countries: South Korea, the United States and China.

Osstem Implant's U.S. unit plans to improve its customer reliability by reflecting the commemorative logo of the presidential award symbol on the package design of all its products sold locally.
