Coway's Icon Water Purifier 2 offers improved consumer experience

Home appliance maker Coway's upgraded Icon Water Purifier 2 is attracting customers' attention with its various cutting-edge new technologies.

The company said that the Icon Water Purifier 2 was first launched in October 2020 and that it contains all the innovation necessary for the kitchen.

The biggest feature of the latest model is that it has dramatically strengthened hygiene technology. The machine has an ultraviolet disinfection system that sterilizes its faucet for 15 minutes every six hours and requires a change of the faucet once a year.

Also, the faucet is made as a cartridge so that it can be easily removed and cleaned. Coway used the material, tritan, to make the faucet so as to increase the hygiene quality of water. Tritan is an eco-friendly material that contains no environmental hormones and has no risk of internal corrosion, so it is safe to use even with newborns. The Icon Water Purifier also passed material safety tests conducted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its major parts ― from the faucet to the water flow channel.

The Icon Water Purifier 2 also features an improved electric cooling system, which had already received good reviews from consumers with its previous model. The electric cooling system uses eco-friendly technology with a semiconductor thermoelectric device that absorbs ambient heat without mechanical movement, without requiring a compressor or refrigerants.

The company has thus upgraded its product technology substantially, while maintaining the small size of the machine. The product also comes in six colors to satisfy customers' aesthetic preferences.

“The Icon Water Purifier 2 is the fruit of the most advanced scientific technology that contains all the innovation required for water purifier products, including an ultra-small size, high hygiene and smart usability,” a Coway official said.
