Korea Ginseng Corporation's (KGC) red ginseng product Cheong Kwan Jang has been enjoying soaring popularity ahead of the Chuseok long weekend as consumers are increasingly purchasing the health food products as gifts, the state-run corporation said Wednesday.
This year, COVID-19 has changed everyone's lives completely. Living in a contactless society has become the new normal and maintaining social distancing at schools, work and even home has become the most fundamental lifestyle to protect ourselves from the virus.
Amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, more consumers are purchasing the red ginseng products as maintaining optimal immunity has become an essential element in this extraordinary time, the corporation added.
“Reflecting current consumer trends, the red ginseng product has become one of the most popular gift items as they are effective in boosting immunity. Our red ginseng products have been officially recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for their effectiveness in improving the immune system,” a KGC official said.
KGC said maintaining a high immunity level is important in such vulnerable times.
With the current focus on viral vigilance, many health food makers are emphasizing that their vitamin and supplement products are good for boosting immunity, but KGC said its red ginseng, aloe and chlorella products have much better effectiveness in enhancing the immune system because the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety officially recognized their health benefits.
KGC said its Cheong Kwan Jang red ginseng products are best-sellers among its health food products as they are certified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for their effectiveness in fighting fatigue, boosting the immune system and energy levels, promoting healthy blood circulation and supporting memory function.
Among the product lineup of the Cheong Kwang Jang brand, KGC recommended Cheng Kwan Jang Hong Samjeong, an extract product made of six-years-grown Korean red ginseng. The product is widely known across the world and generates around $300 million in sales annually.
“In the age of COVID-19, we have been witnessing more consumers purchasing red ginseng products, which are certified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, as more people are interested in boosting immunity,” the KGC official said. “In order to let more consumers purchase our red ginseng products more conveniently, we are expanding our digital shopping channels.”
