Hyundai Glovis has been enjoying growing popularity with its used car buying service Autobell as it provides a “one-stop” service that takes the hassle out of selling used vehicles, the logistics unit of Hyundai Motor Group said Wednesday.

The firm launched the Autobell service in 2014. A car owner can apply for the service via a phone call or online and the firm sends a consultant to inspect and appraise the vehicle. People can easily sell their cars, complete all the time-consuming paperwork and receive payment through the consultant.

“When selling vehicles, people have to choose whether they will sell them privately or trade in their vehicle to a used car dealer. Many people are concerned about the risks of transparency and reliability of these used car transactions but customers using the Autobell service can complete all the complex processes at one time,” the firm said.

Hyundai Glovis said this is possible as the firm has been operating the country's largest auto auction houses since 2001. The firm has held auto auctions once a week at three auction houses in Siheung and Gwangju in Gyeonggi Province and Yangsan in South Gyeongsang Province. It added more than 1 million used cars have been listed on its auction houses.

“Customers using the Autobell service can receive the best price offer as the price is decided based on our large volume of used car auction data,” the firm said.

Hyundai Glovis said the Autobell service can help stimulate the overall used car market here as it is helpful not only for customers but also the used car dealers that take part in its auctions.

“The used cars we purchase through the Autobell service are sent to three of our auction houses. The more quality used cars we distribute, the more car dealers join the auctions. That forces bidders to increase bids and people selling their cars through the Autobell service can receive a reasonable price,” the firm said. “We expect this virtuous cycle will revitalize car auctions and the used car industry.”
