Sokcho's first Hillstate under construction

Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Hyundai E&C) said Sunday it started selling apartments at Hillstate Sokcho Central residential complex which has been under construction in Sokcho, Gangwon Province.

The complex, comprised of four buildings and collectively having 394 apartment units, is the coastal city's first Hillstate. Those who bought the apartments will be able to move in from the second half of 2021.

According to Hyundai E&C, most of the apartments will provide panoramic views of the East Sea, Mount Seorak and Cheongcho Lake, as the area does not have other tall buildings nearby.

The complex, which is only five minutes from public facilities and amenities by car, is also convenient to terminals for intercity buses, express buses, international cruises and ferries. In particular, the cruise and ferry terminals at Sokcho Port have attracted cruise ships from China, Japan and Russia. Recently, a 110,000-ton cruise ship that can carry up to 3,700 passengers entered the port.

As for drivers, they can easily visit Seoul by taking expressways. National Route 7 will also allow them to conveniently drive to neighboring towns, such as Goseong and Yangyang.

The Seoul-Gangneung KTX also enables faster travel to Seoul. The planned opening of the Chuncheon-Sokcho Line will allow residents of the apartments to travel to Yongsan within 75 minutes.

Hyundai E&C said the complex will be equipped with internet of things (IoT) technologies for residents to control lighting, gas, heating, ventilation systems and home appliances remotely by smartphone.

Hillstate Sokcho Central will also have a plaza and a garden, as well as various amenities such as a gym, library and cafes for mothers with their children.

“Hillstate Sokcho Central has gained huge popularity, because it is located in the center of Sokcho and provides a sea view,” a Hyundai E&C official said. “As it is Sokcho's first Hillstate, we will focus on designing various facilities.”
