Korean construction companies hope to display their competitiveness at the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) meeting on Jeju Island, which starts today.

After the AIIB’s launch early last month, the number of infrastructure investments in Asia rose and Korean builders have strived to win related contracts.

“The world recognizes the competitive edge of Korean construction firms. As the AIIB is expected to increase its investments, we hope to work more closely with the bank,” an official of a local builder said.

“The AIIB forum will be a good opportunity to show our strength to AIIB officials and major decision makers of its member countries.”

Korean companies including Hyundai Engineering & Construction plan to pitch their technology and capacity for infrastructure development on Saturday at the annual conference.
