Daewoo E&C eager to support neighborhoods

Daewoo Engineering & Construction (E&C) said Wednesday that employees and their families took part in a community service program, painting the walls in poor neighborhoods in Seongdong district, Seoul.

The activity took place from May 19 to 21 to improve the residential environment of underprivileged districts in the capital city. The company said nearly 200 company employees and family members participated in the community improvement program.

The participants painted bees, flowers and other objects on the walls of old houses to brighten the residential atmosphere.

The builder has been sponsoring a number of community programs over the years to upgrade welfare centers for the homeless and the disabled, as well as construct various facilities for people in need.

“Marking May as Family Month, we carried out the wall painting activity, offering our employees and their family members a chance to help other members of society,” a Daewoo E&C spokesman said. “To become a trusted corporate citizen, we will continue to expand our CSR programs at home and abroad to share growth with marginalized people.”
