Hyundai, Aekyung to become in-laws by marriage

Hyundai Motor Group, the nation’s second-largest conglomerate, and Aekyung Group will have a relation by marriage between the grandchildren of the respective group chiefs.

Sun Dong-wook, 28, a grandson of Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Mong-koo, and Chae Su-yeon, 26, second daughter of Aekyung Group Vice Chairman Chae Hyung-seok will tie the knot at Myeongdong Cathedral in central Seoul, April 15, according to the industry watchers Sunday.

Sun’s mother is Innocean Worldwide advisor Chung Sung-yi, the eldest daughter of the Hyundai chairman. She is married to Sun Doo-hoon, chairman of the board of directors at Daejeon Sun Hospital.

The Aekyung Group vice chairman is the eldest son of group Chairwoman Chang Young-sin. Besides Su-yeon, Chae and his wife Hong Mi-kyeong have one more daughter and son. Their eldest daughter Mun-seon studied voice performance at the Manhattan School of Music and married to SeAH Holdings executive Lee Tae-sung in July 2013.
