Yamaha Music, one of the world’s leading makers of musical instruments, has appointed Kaneda Hideo to be the new CEO of its Korean unit, the company said Monday.

Hideo, who began his career at the Japanese company in 1986, has served in various key posts. He worked in China where he supervised the firm’s sales and marketing from 2006 through 2012. From 2013 to 2015, he oversaw Yamaha’s operations in Taiwan.

Yamaha Music Korea said that on top of its traditional instrument business, Hideo will mobilize more resources to boost the sales of the company’s acoustic systems.

“I will do my best to offer high-quality services to our customers,” Hideo said. “To do so, I will try to grasp the Korean market as quickly as possible.”

The CEO also said that he will bolster interactions with company employees and consumers. “To remain as a leader in the rapidly changing musical instrument and acoustic systems markets, we will continue to introduce innovative and differentiated products and services.”
