T’way Air, Korea’s leading low-cost carrier (LCC), will begin flying to Macau and Ho Chi Minh City, offering more options to local travelers who seek to visit the two Asian cities at lower costs.
The budget carrier headed by CEO Hahm Chul-ho will launch the Incheon-Macau route on Nov. 27 catering to those wanting to visit the city famous for its colonial Portuguese heritage and casinos.
T’way Air will operate a Boeing 737-800 airplane on the route, departing Incheon International Airport at 9:35 p.m., on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Sunday, it will take off at 10:35 p.m. The flight takes about three-and-a-half hours.
The plane will leave Macau International Airport at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and arrive at Incheon at 5:55 a.m. the same day. On Monday, the plane returns to Incheon at 6:55 a.m.
In addition, T’way Air will operate a daily flight between Incheon and Ho Chi Minh City from Dec. 24, becoming the country’s first LCC to do so.
On Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, the plane leaves Incheon at 11:35 a.m. and arrives at the Vietnamese city at 3 p.m. The returning flight takes off from Ho Chi Minh City Airport at 4 p.m. and returns to Incheon at 11:35 p.m.

“Macau is one of the most frequently visited Asian cities by Korean leisure travelers,” a T’way Air spokeswoman said. “The former Portuguese colony offers both Western and Asian cuisines, and has many entertainment and leisure facilities, including casinos. Travelers will soon be able to visit the city with us at a low cost but in a safe and comfortable manner.”
The budget carrier has high hopes for the Incheon and Ho Chi Minh City route, saying that it will be one of the company’s most lucrative routes.
“We are the first domestic LCC to fly to the Vietnamese city, a popular tourist destination for local travelers. With many Korean companies operating offices in the city, we are targeting both business and leisure travelers,” the spokeswoman said. “We will also try to attract Vietnamese travelers seeking to visit Korea.”
T’way Air currently operates 4 domestic and 14 international routes, with a fleet of 11 Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
