Amway Korea, a leading direct marketing company, recently held a special year-end event, inviting executives, employees and their family members.
The local unit of the Michigan-headquartered firm said it was aimed at bringing family members together and helping find the meaning of family, which is one of core values in the company’s management philosophy.
About 1,000 executives, employees and their family members participated in“Amway Family Day,” at Woori Art Hall in Seoul’s Olympic Park, Saturday.
Children of the executives and employees staged a concert featuring various instruments such as the guitar, piano and marimba and also sang.
“I was very nervous but at the same time happy to perform in front of people who my dad works with,” said Yoo Su-hyun, one of children who took part in the concert. “I could play in harmony, thinking of the importance of harmony as my dad emphasizes.”
The 13-year-old girl said she wanted to be part of next year’s event after practicing harder.
Afterwards, executives and employees also gave various performances, which they had practiced after work.
The event also featured a performance by maestro Geum Nan-sae and the Eurasian Philharmonic Orchestra and a shortened version of the musical “Rock of Ages.”
The firm also allowed participants to experience various Amway products and offered face painting for children.
Amway Korea CEO Park Se-joon said the company will continue to hold such events so that executives and employees can spend happy time with their family members.
“An old saying goes, when one´s home is harmonious, all goes well,” Park said. “I think our executives and employees can do their best at work and produce the best outcome when their families are happy. So we will keep holding events for their families.”
Founded in 1959, Amway is one of the world’s largest direct selling companies, operating in around 60 countries in Asia, Australia, Europe and Africa. Amway entered the Korean market in 1991.
