Infiniti brings versatile luxury sedan

A versatile new car was introduced in Korea this month, designed to tackle both standard and more unfavorable driving conditions.

The all-new Infiniti M37x 4WD sedan offers trademark functionality but also helps cars react to all environments with its Advanced Traction Engineering System for All-Terrain (ATTESA).

“By constantly monitoring wheel spin, throttle position and vehicle speed, this system automatically diverts up to 50 percent of the available power to the front wheels, enhancing traction and control when conditions are less than optimal,’’ an Infiniti representative said.

“When all-wheel drive is not needed, the system sends 100 percent of the power to the rear wheels for more responsive road performance. This will contribute the safety for the passengers as well as high performance.”

The representative added that on normal dry road conditions, it provides outstanding handling and driving feel while on snow-covered and icy roads, it offers a more stable driving environment.

ATTESA is a tried-and-tested system in the global market and this is the first time that a sedan powered by the much-touted technology has been introduced to the Korean motorists, according to Infiniti.

Versatility and sophistication are not the only features of the M37 _ it also stands out in terms of design for both its exterior and interior, fuel efficiency and technological edge.

Kenji Naito, who is heading the Infiniti brand in Korea, expects that the luxury sedan will add depth to its lineup.

“It is another enriching milestone for Infiniti Korea to expand options for our customers by adding a four-wheel drive model to our M model line-up,’’ Naito said in a statement.

“I hope our customers can enjoy the inspired performance of the Infiniti with the all-new Infiniti M37x 4WD, even on snowy and icy roads in winter.”

The Infiniti M37x is priced at 65.4 million won including valued added tax and currently available from Infiniti showrooms across the country.

After tapping into Asia’s fourth-largest economy in the mid 2000s, Infiniti has successfully taken firm root with its strong products.

Other models on sale in Korea include the G sedan/coupe/convertible, M sedan, Ex and FX crossovers, the QX full-size sport utility vehicle and the all-new JX luxury crossover.
