Samsung poised to add iPhone 5 to patent war

Samsung Electronics Co. said Thursday it plans to add Apple Inc.'s iPhone 5 to the ongoing patent war between the two smartphone giants, a move that could affect sales of the latest iPhone.

"Samsung anticipates that it will file, in the near future, a motion to amend its infringement contentions to add the iPhone 5 as an accused product," the Korean tech giant said in a U.S. court filing on Wednesday (local time).
