The American business community in South Korea said Wednesday that it has elected the president of Boeing Korea as its new chief.

Pat Gaines will serve as the new chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) replacing current chairman Frank Little who will be leaving his post to take on a new position at 3M headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Gaines attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. Prior to his appointment as Boeing Korea president, Gaines served as the vice president of Customer Support for Asia-Pacific for Commercial Aviation Services of Boeing, as well as president of Alteon Training, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boeing.

AMCHAM Korea was founded in 1953, and is the largest foreign chamber in Korea with around 2,000 members and over 1,000 companies with diverse interests and substantial participation in the South Korean economy. (Yonhap)
