Philip Morris International (PMI) Korea, one of the top tobacco makers in Korea, will launch a new product, dubbed Marlboro Ice Blast, the third menthol variant of the famous brand.

The Seoul-based company announced Wednesday that the product will hit the shelves this week with a price tag of 2,500 won per pack. It contains 6mg of tar and the packaging consists of contrasting colors of black and blue.

``As the third menthol product by Marlboro family after Marlboro Black Menthol and Marlboro White Menthol, the adult smoker can enjoy much stronger menthol and unique mint flavor when they crush the Ice Ball inside the filter during smoking,’’ PMI Korea said in a statement.

PMI tapped into Korea in 1989 to bring a set of well known brands such as Marlboro, Parliament and Virginia Slim. Currently, approximately 480 employees work for the multinational firm in Korea.

PMI Korea built production facilities in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province, which has been recognized as one of the best plants among the PMI factories across the world.

The firm topped the list in consumer satisfaction surveys in the tobacco segment last year including those conducted by the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) and Korean Consumer Satisfaction Index (KCSI).
