BC Card won the award for the best credit card service company in the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) in 2010 for the third consecutive year.
The NCSI is an index model based on the degree of satisfaction of consumers, who have used the product or services provided by domestic and foreign companies. The Korea Productivity Center and University of Michigan devised it together, and announce it annually.
BC Card gained the spotlight from local media earlier this year when it announced it would start global payment services by forming a strategic alliance with Discover Financial Service (DFS) to share credit card networks.
The move paved the way for BC to enable Korean cardholders to use domestic credit cards to purchase goods and services abroad without paying services fees to global payment services providers, such as Visa and MasterCard.
The company said that BC Card CEO Chang Hyung-duk signed a contract with DFS Vice President Diane Offereins in Los Angeles in January to form a business alliance for network sharing.
BC has provided customized products for specific classes of cardholders. For example, it launched BC School Card, a specialized debit card for students, which can be also used as an identification card.
BC takes the lead in social corporate responsibility activities engaging in various programs. The company hosted BC Card World Baduk (Go) Championship to promote the traditional Asian game to the world. It has also supported many female players in the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA).
Such activities boosted the company’s image as a responsible credit card service provider, which also takes part in corporate social responsibility programs.
The company holds a customer panel conference every month to figure out what customers need directly. It also analyzes customers’ opinions, and reflects them in new products and services.
