Additional FMD-affected livestock reported

The government said Saturday it discovered an additional case of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in the southeastern part of the country, raising the total number of cases to 35.

The ministry of agriculture reported that cattle at a farm in Yeongju, North Gyeongsang Province were found to be infected with the highly contagious disease, which affects all cloven-hoofed animals, including pigs, goats and sheep.
