Korea's telecom titan KT Corp. said Sunday that it will introduce a location-based call-taxi system in Russia through its local affiliate next year.
New Telephone Co., the country's 10th-largest mobile operator, will offer call-taxi service in Vladivostok starting in March, which will connect the nearest cab with the caller, KT said in a statement. KT holds management control of the Russian company.
The service will be made available to 7 percent of 4,000 taxis in the eastern Russian city and will later expand to 30 percent of the city's cabs in 2015, it said.
