Korea's top wire and cable maker LS Cable Ltd. has won a 51 billion won ($45 million) contract from a U.S. floor maker.
The order calls for LS Cable to supply flooring materials to Metroflor USA over five years, starting in 2011, the Korean company said in a statement Wednesday.
LS Cable will provide flocked carpet and rubber flooring products, which are designed to make carpets with a higher density and a stronger resistance to dirt, it said.
The cable maker entered the commercial flooring market in 1994, based on the compound technology acquired from its cable-making experience.
