The United States Wednesday called for the leaders of 20 top economies to address exchange rates during next month's summit in Seoul with an eye toward rebalancing surplus and deficit countries, Yonhap News Agency reported.
"I certainly agree that the G20 needs to grapple with a set of economic challenges that are now facing us, and do it in a way that results in a stronger framework for cooperative action," a senior Treasury Department official told reporters ahead of this weekend's meeting of G20 financial ministers and central bankers in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, Yonhap said.
The G-20 Seoul Summit is slated for Nov. 11-12.
