Lee kun-hee, the ex-chairman of South Korea's largest business conglomerate Samsung and who this week returned to assume the helm of Samsung Electronics Co, plans to publish a biography in the United States in July, Hankyung said on Saturday.
Lee is regarded as the icon of the South Korean businesses with global outreach, and the book will introduce Lee as a role model for American readers who are interested in self-motivation and development, it said.
The book also contains Lee's life philosophy. Amid the economic slump in America, which generated some doubts about the Western capitalist business model, the book aims to introduce the "Eastern business philosophy" to the Americans as an alternative, while focusing on Lee's leadership style that has proven to be so far successful in Korea.
Lee is known to be a skillful entrepreneur who knows how to motivate people by imbuing a "sense of crisis" when necessary.
