Listen

The Korea Public Relations Consultancy Association (KPRCA) composed of Korea's major PR firms, is holding an international PR seminar at Grand Ballroom of the Westin Chosun today.

The seminar, organized under the theme of ``Crisis, What Crisis? ― Public Relations in Challenging Times,'' is designed to enhance the awareness of Korean companies and public organizations regarding the functions and roles of public relations as an important means of corporate communication.

Making presentations at the seminar are Penny Shone, former managing director of Public Affairs and Communications at Citigroup; Sharif Rangnekar, director and CEO of India's PR agency Integral PR; and Lee Eun-wook, vice president of Yuhan-Kimberly.

``In the rapidly changing environment where crisis management becomes more important for every company, and Internet-centered social media are emerging as important means, the importance and value of public relations is more significant than ever. I hope this forum will play a role in helping public relations to be recognized as critical management communication beyond media relations,'' said Kevin Lee, president of KPRCA.

The Korea Public Relations Consultancy Association is an organization established in 2000 by seventeen leading PR agencies in order to develop Korea's PR industry and enhance ethics and compliance of those engaged in public relations.
