Why Did ING Chairman Meet Troubled KB Head?

ING Chairman Jan Hommen visited Korea late Sunday for the first time ever since he took charge of the Netherlands-based insurance giant in April and left the country Monday evening.

Over the one-day stay, Hommen underwent an extremely tight schedule of meeting with Vice Strategy and Finance Minister Hur Kyung-wook, local journalists and more than 1,500 IMG employees.

Despite the busy schedule, Hommen found a time slot to pay a visit to KB Financial Group Chairman Hwang Young-key, who is now in trouble due to investments in risky financial products a couple of years ago.
