For most Koreans, the Wall Street crisis is seen as one of the biggest threats to the country since the 1997-1998 financial crisis, with the turmoil shaking the local financial market, and driving the economy into a deeper downturn.

But in the eyes of James Rooney, chairman and CEO of Market Force Company, the crisis is seen as a golden opportunity for the world's 13th largest economy to emerge as a force in the global market.

The global financial market expert stressed that Korea should capitalize on the many opportunities that will be created during the restructuring process of the global financial sector in the wake of the U.S. credit crisis.
