Chrysler aims to sell up to 5,500 cars in the South Korean market next year, snatching about 8 percent of the whole imported car market, which accounts for about 5 percent of the country’s total car market, according to the carmaker’s local unit here Wednesday.

Chrysler Korea said that the firm plans to introduce new cars such as the Sebring diesel and convertible models, New Grand Voyager and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT as well as the facelift models of Chrysler 300C, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Dakota in 2008.

``We sold a total of 3,521 cars by the end of November this year with a variety of new models and new consumer satisfaction program,’’ a company spokesman said. ``So, we expect that we can achieve this year’s sales target of 4,000 cars easily.’’
