Korea Management Association (KMA) Honorary Chairman Song In-sang has received the ``Grand Order of Mugunghwa,’’ the highest decoration awarded by the government, according to the institute.

Song, 93, won the order of national service merit named after the ``mugunghwa’’ ― or the rose of Sharon, which is the national flower of South Korea ― for his contribution to the national economy and the competitiveness of private enterprises over the past decades.

He led the rehabilitation of the country after the Korean War (1950-53) as Bank of Korea governor, minister of finance and many other important positions while making a great contribution to the alliance between South Korea and the United States.

Song led the KMA, an institute for industry education and human resources management consulting, for 21 years since 1986. He concurrently serves as an advisor to Hyosung Group and the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI).
