POSCO, together with its five subsidiary companies, on Tuesday donated 10 billion won to the Community Chest of Korea, the country's largest non-profit fundraising agency.

The steel maker gave 8 billion won, and 2 billion won came from its subsidiaries POSCO E&C, POSCO Specialty Steel, POSCO Power, POSCON and POSREC, the company said in a statement.

``We decided to make a collective effort to share love and hope with the community during this year-end season,'' it said.

The world's fourth-largest steel group last week earned proceeds of more than 250 million won from its holiday bazaar, plus almost 70 million won from various lectures its company executives gave. Altogether, POSCO said more than 300 million won was given to the Beautiful Foundation.
