Ministers from Asia and the Pacific region called for partnerships between the private and the public sector for infrastructure development, closing a conference held in Seoul from Tuesday to Friday.
The forum, organized by the Ministry of Planning and Budget and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, had around twenty ministers from around the region participating, who agreed to strengthen regional cooperation to promote investment by the private sector in infrastructure development.
They declared they will cooperate in developing educational and training programs, sharing databases, standardizing terminology and providing technological assistance to one another.
``We've come to play a bigger role as a leading country in the region that promotes private investment,'' the ministry said. The next ministerial meeting will be held in Indonesia in 2009.
