HSBC Korea President Simon Cooper has been appointed as chairman of the Foreign Investment Advisory Council (FIAC), which advises the Seoul Metropolitan Government on how to attract more foreign investment.

Cooper will replace Steven Bear, former manager of McKinsey & Company's Seoul office to serve a two-year term beginning in September.

The FIAC was set up by the Seoul government in March 1999 to improve the investment environment for foreigners. The council is composed of 28 representatives of foreign business communities.
