MetLife Korea said it will leap up to No. 5 in the industry in the next five years with a steadfast focus on customers, marking its 35th anniversary.
At the company's Always With You Rally held at its headquarters in southern Seoul, Thursday, MetLife Korea CEO Song Young-rok expressed his deep appreciation for customers and employees who made MetLife Korea what it is today after reflecting on the challenges and achievements over the past 35 years.
"MetLife Korea is already at the highest level in the industry in terms of financial soundness and positioned in the top five in many areas," he said.
"MetLife will aspire to be included in the top five for most important indicators in five years so that Koreans will list MetLife as one of Korea's top five life insurers," he added, presenting Metlife's vision over the next five years and strategies to achieve it.
Building upon its achievements so far, the insurer announced its five core values — customer, differentiation, diversification, artificial intelligence (AI)/digital and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)/community.
MetLife Korea announced it will always approach customers with extreme kindness because it was the trust of customers that enabled the company to run successfully for 35 years.
It added that differentiation means always thinking from the customer's point of view and maximizing customer convenience. MetLife has plans to further improve the quality of various services, such as fast and accurate insurance payments and easy call center connection. In addition, MetLife will continue to upgrade customer solutions such as 360Health and 360 Future.
The company intends to diversify products and services so that it can cater to the needs of customers in any market situation under the all-weather strategy. It is determined to meet various financial needs that may arise throughout the life cycle of customers by adding various options to its flagship products such as dollar insurance and variable insurance and providing health insurance with various special agreements at reasonable premiums.
The insurer also stressed that it will continue to lead AI and digital innovation by expanding the use of machine learning-based customized services and generative AI.
DEI/Community is another core value of the company. MetLife explained that as a global insurance company, it is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities as a corporate citizen and pursues the values of diversity and inclusion while volunteering for the community to help build an environmentally and socially sustainable society.
"MetLife is the only global financial company that is dedicated to insurance. We will successfully take on challenges on our journey toward the top five," Song said.
