AXA General Insurance nominates new CEO candidate

AXA General Insurance announced Thursday that it has nominated Hans Vraken as its new CEO.

Vraken is expected to officially take office as CEO on June 1, following approval at a regular board meeting.

The nominee for the CEO position, a seasoned financial expert with over 20 years of experience, is expected to contribute to AXA's innovation and further growth with his business acumen and leadership firmly based on his understanding of the insurance business in diverse markets.

Since 2021, he has successfully led various projects and initiatives as the director of people, communications and brand at international markets of AXA, demonstrating his leadership skills in fostering an inclusive organizational culture.

He's also equipped with rich experience and insights into insurance management and the Asian insurance market.

Prior to his current appointment, Hans Vranken served as the CEO of YUZZU, an insurance company in Belgium. He also led AXA Direct Japan as the CEO from April 2017 to August 2021, where he explored the insurer's new opportunities in the dynamic and competitive direct insurance market.
