The Korea Securities Depository (KSD) and Citibank were jointly awarded by the Hong Kong-based "The Asset" Magazine, the KSD said Wednesday.
They won the "Best Securities Mandate of the Year" award at "The Asset Triple A - Asset Servicing, Institutional Investor and Insurance Awards 2019" held in Hong Kong, June 27.
The awards recognize the best institutions and projects in finance in Asia every year, with the purpose of exploring market participants that have contributed to market development.
“I believe that the KSD's global securities lending is essential, so it was selected as the winner of the 'Best Securities Lending Mandate of the Year.' I hope that the service will be developed further,” said Daniel Yu, Editor-in-chief of The Asset magazine.
The KSD introduced global securities lending in October 2018. Currently, Citibank serves as an intermediary to provide stocks listed in the U.S., Hong Kong and Japan.
