Genesis, the independent luxury brand of Hyundai Motor Group, has unveiled the GV60 Magma, the brand's first high-performance electric vehicle (EV) representing its technological capabilities developed over the past decade, the automaker said Friday.
The GV60 Magma was unveiled Thursday at a world premiere event held at the Paul Ricard Circuit in Le Castellet in southern France. It is based on a concept model that Genesis introduced last year when it formally announced its entry into the high-performance segment.
Built on a lower and wider body, the GV60 Magma features unique Magma-exclusive colors, delivers a maximum torque of 790 Newton-meters (Nm) and accelerates from zero to 200 kilometers per hour in 10.9 seconds, making it the most powerful EV Genesis has produced.
The GV60 Magma is also equipped with Hyundai Motor Group's first electrically adjustable 10-way power bucket seats, offering ventilation, memory and cushion-extension functions for enhanced comfort and support.
"Genesis achieved 1 million in global sales faster than any luxury marque in history. Magma represents our declaration that the next 10 years will be even more significant," Jose Munoz, chief executive officer (CEO) of Hyundai Motor, said.
