Jong Tae-se to join German soccer team
North Korean World Cup soccer team’s star, Jong Tae-se, will join Germany’s Bochum, Yonhap news agency said citing the Japanese media.
Bochum has reached an agreement with Kawasaki Frontale over the transfer of Jong Tae-se, it said.
The forward's contract with Kawasaki holds till the summer of 2011, but the Japanese outfit accepted the German offer, partly also respecting Jong’s wish to be in the European team, it said.
Jong put in some strong performances for North Korea during the World Cup, making him noticed by the German team.
“I feel that I need experience in a bigger stage. I really felt so during the World Cup,” he reportedly said.
Jong is expected to sign a four-year deal in the coming days, another report said.
