Former Agent Prepares Lawsuit Against Lee

Chunnam Dragons forward Lee Chun-soo's former agent is preparing a lawsuit against the striker demanding that he pay a penalty fee for breaking his contract.

IFA Sports General Manager Kim Min-jae also denied the existence of a separate agreement, which Lee insisted did exist in a press conference in Seoul, Wednesday.

``I will file a lawsuit against Lee. I have asked (lawyers) to examine the issue,'' Kim said. ``Lee Chun-soo's aide Kim Chul-ho said to me that Lee will pay the penalty fee. I have recorded what Kim said.''

Kim Min-jae signed an agreement with the Dragons on behalf of Lee that said he would pay a penalty fee if Lee moves to another club before the contact expires. Dutch club Feyenoord and the Dragons agreed to a one-year-loan deal for Lee last February. The Dragons have asked for 375 million won ($297,000) from Lee and Kim.

The agent also denied that Feyenoord and Lee had agreed that Lee would leave Chunnam if the Dutch club signs a transfer agreement with another club worth more than 900 million won ($712,000). Lee argued that because of this condition, he must leave the Dragons.

``I was in charge of the contract process. I have never heard about that. I think Lee and his aides have made the story to make the move easier,'' Kim said.

Meanwhile, the Korea Professional Football League decided to accept the Dragons' request to release Lee, Wednesday.
