Home plus, the Korean arm of U.K. food giant Tesco, has introduced a recipe for corn on its website with an interesting name: “drug corn.”

The recipe calls for sautéing canned corn with butter, mayonnaise, cream and sugar. In recent years, people have used the Korean word for drugs - “ma-yak” - to describe foods, as in “ma-yak gim-bap” or “ma-yak waffle.”

According to Home plus, “mayak corn” is the website’s second-most popular recipe, garnering some 100,000 views over the last three months. The most popular recipe was for a homemade version of “honey-butter” chips with 177,800 hits.

Sweet and buttery foods have been popular since Haitai Confectionery launched its virally popular Honey Butter Chip last year.

“People in the country have started to create their own recipes for these kind of snacks and share them with one another,” a Home plus spokeswoman said.

“We are also planning on providing more diverse recipe for our customers so that they can utilize them.”
