Police raided the headquarters of e-commerce giant Coupang for a second day Wednesday, continuing their investigation into a massive personal data leak that has affected more than 30 million customers.

The cyber unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency sent its investigators to the Coupang headquarters in Songpa, eastern Seoul, with a search warrant to seize evidence related to the data breach, a day after they raided the compound for about 10 hours.

Police launched the investigation after Coupang disclosed the massive breach of personal information belonging to 33.7 million customers, a number equivalent to more than half of the country's 52 million population.

Police have reportedly secured the IP address used in the data breach and are tracking down the person who leaked the data. They are also seeking to look into potential technical vulnerabilities in Coupang's customer information management system.

The search warrant specifies a Chinese national who formerly worked for Coupang as a suspect on charges of breaching the information and communications network and leaking confidential data, according to sources familiar with the issue.
