Busan International Foreign School (BIFS) will hold a spring open house event at its Gijang-nari campus in Busan, Feb. 17.
Potential students and their parents are invited to visit the beautiful campus and get to know administrators, teachers, current students and parents, to find out more about the competitive advantages of a BIFS education.
Kevin Baker, head of the school, will welcome visitors to the campus, who will then have a chance to explore the grounds and facilities with a campus tour and classroom visits to the world-class facility.
Following the tour, a Q&A session will provide the opportunity to learn more and ask any additional questions about the advantages and challenges of an international education in an increasingly globalized, English language-oriented world.
BIFS is an international baccalaureate (IB) continuum school.
“In addition to a rigorous academic education, Service Learning, connecting the teaching in the classroom with action in the community, is integral to the IB’s vision of teaching peace through global citizenship and environmental stewardship. BIFS offers a personalized K-12 education and the IB diploma, coveted for its status as a gateway to prestigious universities around the world,” the school said in a press release.
Founded in 1983 (as the International School of Pusan) by a group of Norwegian businessmen, BIFS is a nonprofit international school with over 400 students from 42 countries catering to expatriate children in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province.
In the summer of 2010, BIFS moved to its current state-of-the-art purpose-built facility, built with the support of the city government, which supports our comprehensive approach to education.
The staff at BIFS hail from the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, Korea, Spain, Venezuela, Chile, South Africa, Japan, Singapore, India and the Philippines.
The open session will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
