A woman in her 40s has reportedly been executed while in prison in North Korea for speaking out against the regime, Daily NK said on Sunday.

The woman was on trial for making anti-state comments and had been in prison since 2009.

Daily NK said in its report that while she met her final moments in despair, she was actually the winner in the fight against the Kim Jong-il regime. Kim Jong-il died last year.

The woman was a senior official of the government and reportedly pocketed some $4 million while working as the proprietor of Chongjin City, living a life of luxury.

Everything was going well her until in 2009 when she mentioned that Kim Jong-il’s dream of construction a mighty nation is but a dream, thus landing her in prison and facing trial.

The creation of a mighty nation in which tens of thousands of housing units are built and distributed had actually long disappeared from public attention and reality.
