Former President Kim Dae-jung will make a six-day trip to Norway to attend the annual World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates from Sept. 9, an aide said Sunday.
Kim won the Nobel Prize in 2000 after holding the first-ever inter-Korean summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-il and adopting with the North Korean leader the June 15 Declaration containing reconciliation efforts on the Korean Peninsula.
He is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the event on Sept. 10 and deliver a keynote speech on ``dialogue based on the reciprocity" a day later.
The former President is expected to suggest solving international conflicts through peace talks, citing successful cases of reciprocity dialogue, including his Sunshine Policy of engaging North Korea, the aide said.
Approximately 500 people, including officials of the Norwegian government and business leaders, are expected to join the four-day event.
They will discuss issues such as global climate change and security following the Sept. 11 attacks, the aide said.
