The Vietnamese government will examine the personal information of Korean men to marry Vietnamese women, a Korean non-governmental organization said Friday.

According to the Vietnamese Women Culture Center (VWCC), the Vietnam Women's Union, a government department for women's welfare, will examine the bridegroom candidate's age, job, monthly income and family relations. The candidate should submit the information, and when its authenticity is approved, he will be allowed to proceed with his marriage.

For the project, the Vietnamese government will send three officials to the VWCC.

The women's union will also examine Vietnamese women's identification and reasons for marriage. Only those who pass the test can be introduced to Korean men. The bridal candidates will also be informed of Korean culture and language to get more accustomed to Korean life.

The project will disallow Korean men with fake identification and Vietnamese women who marry for illegal work purposes, Ku Kyo-hoon, the director of the VWCC, said.
